"It's All An Adventure"

Mikkel Aaland is a photographer, filmmaker, publisher, And author. His non-technical books include, "County Fair Portraits,” (for which he made an appearance on Late Night with David Letterman) “Sweat” (an illustrated tour of international bathing customs, culminating a three-year project), "The Sword of Heaven," "Pilgrimage to Kailash" and a recently published memoir, "The River in My Backyard.” He is also the author several best-selling training books and videos on digital photography.

 

He is the host of the seven part documentary series Perfect Sweat and co-founder of Sauna Aid, a multicountry initiative, sponsored by the International Sauna Association (ISA), to provide movable sauna facilities and supportive services to people facing natural and man-made disasters.

 

Aaland, along with his wife, Rebecca Taggart, is based in San Francisco and Ulefoss, Norway.
